Sustainable development in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine Region: Compositadour takes part in the RecOMBinEUR project!
(Revalorisation of cOMposites to improve performance, integrity, use and reuse)
RecOMBinEUR is a project funded by the Conseil régional de Nouvelle-Aquitaine as part of the AAP INTER-CT, bringing together 7 players from New Aquitaine: AXYAL, APESA, COMPOSITADOUR, Precimicron, RESCOLL Industries, SOMOCAP, and CANOE - Le Centre Technologique Nouvelle Aquitaine Composites & Matériaux Avancés (project coordinator). Its aim is to develop a value chain in the New Aquitaine region around the recycling and recovery of high-performance thermoplastic matrix composites reinforced with carbon fibres.
Our tasks on this project?
- Identify and define the sources of materials from scraps and rejects from the production of ‘long-fibre’ thermoplastic composite parts.
- Define and validate the methodology for implementing shredding to obtain a coarse shred from production scraps and rejects or end-of-life composite parts.
- Use these shreds for thermocompression and thermoforming to create characterisation parts and demonstrators.
