Introducing the WAAMOLD project

CERTIM's WAAMOLD project has won the Eco-Innovation Prize awarded by the Communauté d'Agglomération du Pays Basque. Addimadour supported CERTIM in this adventure. The aim of this ambitious project was to revolutionise the manufacture of large-scale tools using WAAM (Wire Arc Additive Manufacturing) additive manufacturing technology.

By combining skills and technologies, WAAMOLD has succeeded in finding a sustainable solution to transform the sector by creating moulding tools for composite parts, while tackling a dual environmental challenge. On the one hand, the project has drastically reduced the carbon footprint by minimising the quantities of raw materials required through more efficient manufacturing processes. Secondly, it has helped to limit the transport of raw materials, particularly large sheet metal.
